About GoodToKnow

Vehicle data is fragmented by design. We built the layer that reconciles it.

Motor insurers price policies on declared information that is rarely checked against registry reality. The gap between what a policyholder states and what vehicle records actually show is where mispricing concentrates. We incorporated GoodToKnow OÜ in Tallinn in 2025 to close that gap at the point of underwriting, starting with the Baltic market where the registry infrastructure was ready to support the approach.

Record-level reconciliation, not document-level assertion

Vehicle history checks that rely on seller-supplied documents are still assertions. GoodToKnow reconciles at the record level: cross-referencing national vehicle registries, insurance claim databases, and recall systems to produce a verification signal set that is structurally independent of what the seller provides.

We focus on the Baltic and EU motor market. We do not cover non-EU vehicle records, provide physical inspection services, or issue valuation certificates. Our scope is deliberately narrow: eight registry-backed signals delivered via API, nothing more. That focus is what lets us keep signal quality high as we expand jurisdiction by jurisdiction.

We are registered in Estonia as GoodToKnow OÜ and operate from Tallinn. We are independently funded.

The Team

Built by people who lived the data problem

The team comes from automotive data infrastructure, distributed systems engineering, and EU vehicle registry data partnerships.

Tomi Keinanen, CEO and Co-Founder of GoodToKnow

Tomi Keinanen

CEO & Co-Founder. Tomi has spent his career building data pipelines for automotive fleet management and telematics systems across Nordic markets. He saw the same fragmented registry problem repeated across every motor insurance integration he worked on, which became the founding premise of GoodToKnow.

Maris Tamm, CTO and Co-Founder of GoodToKnow

Maris Tamm

CTO & Co-Founder. Maris brings a background in distributed data systems, with particular experience in Estonian e-government data integration and insurance platform engineering. She designed the reconciliation pipeline at the core of GoodToKnow's API, drawing on the same architectural patterns that underpin Estonia's interoperable public data infrastructure.

Piret Kallas, Head of Data Partnerships at GoodToKnow

Piret Kallas

Head of Data Partnerships. Piret specialises in vehicle registry data sourcing and EU-wide motor data standards. She works directly with national registry bodies and insurer data teams to qualify and integrate each jurisdiction GoodToKnow adds to coverage, ensuring the signal quality holds before production access opens.
